My Winter Squirrel Series is inspired by the squirrels I watch throughout the colder months—darting, climbing, scattering, and pausing just long enough to show their personality. Even in winter, they bring energy and warmth to the landscape, and I wanted this series to reflect that feeling. Each artwork captures a moment of movement or curiosity, set against a warm background to highlight the animal’s natural color and character.
Every piece is created using acrylic paint and hand-painted collage papers. I build the surface in layers, adding texture and subtle pattern to bring dimension to the fur, background, and surrounding space. This mixed media approach helps keep the focus on the squirrel while also giving the work a sense of environment and seasonal mood.
